Ordered a few days ahead of time for their 4 feet sandwich!! It was $140 and fed so many of us! sandwich was huge and everyone loved it it. The guy even helped us load the sandwich in the car
Love this place , been coming here ever since I was a little kid And the place hasn't changed a bit !!! Other then the prices going up over the years but that's totally fine it's worth every penny The sandwiches are wholesome and probably a the size of a human adult arm You can opt out and get it on a roll or even a whole wheat hero instead You can order any cold cut you would like but They do have some specials Like the bomb Which is an Italian and American combo combined ... get it fully loaded ( onions , lettuce tomato hot peppers sweet peppers oil vinegar) If you just want Italian combo by itself that's fine too My go to sandwiches I get here are the Italian combo Roast beef Mortadella + mozzarella But those are just my preferences They also have salads such as Tuna Macaroni Potato Marinated mushrooms Etc These can be perfectly paired with any sandwich They have also a wide selection of chips and sodas as well as boxes Italian cookies and other things If you're ever in Astoria and near ditmars you better check them out
This deli has crossed generations at this point. My dad had a secret sandwich spot for years, I'm from the Bronx so I actually never had a reason to be in this part of Queens, but happily took half a sandwich when he brought it. About a year ago, I heard about a great sandwich shop, saw the description for the bomb and had one of the best sandwich experiences ever. Once I woke up, I hit up my dad asking if this was his spot - and I was right! Can't hide that signature flavor and New York flair. The first time I had it, hunkered down, watched a movie and took this beast apart alone. Today I have to share and it makes two, even three people happy instead of one. A must have every time I'm in the city!
My best friend, Locomotive Breath, and I hiked a section of the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail yesterday. It was lunchtime and, out of his backpack did appear... no, not Rudolph or some tiny reindeer...but (even better) a large hero from S, K, and C's. LB lives in the nabe, and is a regular for years. They make, on an average day, over 1000 sandwiches. The Italian semolina bread practically melts in your mouth. They do not skimp. Our turkey, Swiss, lettuce, tomato and mayo just hit all the right notes. To me, they are the industry standard in sandwich making. The best of the best. 5 stars
Can't go wrong with this deli. My partner and I come here when we are craving sandwiches and it's close by. It's a deli is kinda hidden under the elevated train tracks but you can't miss the big sign. The deli has all the goods you need for a sandwich with friendly service for any sandwich you want to make. We usually get The bomb, which is a jam packed sandwich with all the Italian meats and cheeses. You will not be left hungry or hankering for more meats. I've made my own sandwich of mortadella and turkey with all the toppings and that was delicious as well.
So worth the money! Great for picnics and huge catering and events. It is a bit tooooo much for me in terms of the meat but they have so many options that you really can't go wrong ordering here. The people are friendly and quick as well! While I was there I saw a HUGE sandwich being carried out. It was probably 2 meters long and 6 inches wide. Now that is something I would def want to order one day.
Just as delish as a year ago. Newest update is it's now $19. Friendly reminder to bring cash. Love the guys behind the counter and how they laugh whenever I take a pic. Bring a friend and share. I can always only eat a quarter of the sandwich. When I don't have a friend to share with, this sandwich will last me two days. Will not only be one of my fav sandwiches but will also be one of my fav delis.
I passed by Sal, Kris, & Charlie's on my way to Halal Fest last time so unfortunately I did not have time or the stomach space to tackle them. But I returned, hungry and undeterred, recently to try their famed Bomb ($19). It really was "da bomb" as the folks say and it came piled high with plenty of deli meats, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and these delightfully pickled red peppers. These sandwiches are literally the size of an infant, so come hungry and bring a friend. I really enjoyed their bread, which was fluffy and had a crisp exterior. I carried the Bomb for a short drive over to Astoria Park and even by then, the paper was soaked through with juices and oils. I would definitely recommend eating the sandwiches ASAP, though it did manage to maintain some of its integrity hours later when I ate the second half.
I was scrolling Instagram and came across a page that post this deli and how famous and great the sandwiches here were. I had never heard of this place and figured it would be a cool place to check out. My buddy and I expected it to possibly be crowded since we have. A few popular sandwhich places in Brooklyn, where most times, the lines are extremely long. However, there were only two people ahead of us. Browsing Yelp, I saw they didn't accept card so I was prepared with cash. Our only other concern was since neither of us eat pork, we were hopeful they would accommodate us and use the cheese blade but to our delight, they have a non- pork blade they use as that have multiple slicers, which was appreciated. The sandwhich didn't take long, the staff was friendly, and ultimately, the sandwich was pretty good, too. The bread could have been a little softer but that was fine. I'll definitely be back again!
This is the HOLY GRAIL of deli sandwiches! With that being said Hubby and I were looking for something different to eat. We were all out of options. We didn't want the stuff that we normally get so I suggested sandwiches. We've had this place on our bookmark for a very long time. Thankfully Hubby agreed to order the sandwiches. I chose to do a "create your own" sandwich. I added honey turkey to a lightly toasted hero, mild provolone, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. Hubby ordered pastrami on a roll with lettuce, tomatoes, mozzarella, and mayo. We were thoroughly impressed with our sandwiches. The ingredients were super fresh and some of the best that we've ever tasted. There were no words exchanged between the two of us that's how much we enjoyed it. Although I love bread it gets me full pretty fast. I was surprised I was able to inhale a quarter of my sandwich so quickly. I'm not a fan of pastrami,, but my husband said it was really good. He tried my sandwich and he wished ordered the same thing.
